Yes. HARI is a Deemed-to-be University under the UGC's Distinct Category, formally notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on 16 October 2025 (Notification No. 9-8/2024-U.3(A)). It is India's first greenfield, privately sponsored deemed-to-be university approved by the Government of India under this designation.
